News Post -Part 2-

More news. I am still missing a few things but the rest will come with the next news post next weekend. Writing these things on the go is not ideal and I'd like to avoid making any more idiotic mistakes (thanks Laura and Anon for pointing out my stupid mistake in the last one).

Mikkai
The visuals and information on the fourth CD are now up on the official site. The character for the final CD is Kenjou Ousuke (CV: Ookawa Tohru), and 42 year old business man who runs a company that specializes in importing furniture. His looks and demeanour may be soft, but he approaches every situation with cold logic. The CD will be released on 2013.03.29.

Story of 365 Days
I believe it has been a while since the last release, but the Story of 365 Days is getting a new release. Story of 365 days~floriography chapter.DIA will be released on 2013.03.21. Judging by the title, other CDs might follow later. This CD will feature the King (CV: Hoshi Souichrou), Jack (CV: Hirakawa Daisuke) and Ace (CV: Ono Daisuke) of Diamonds. (It would have been hilarious if they Hirarin would have voiced the Ace). The story will feature various situations based on the language of flowers ('hanakotoba')

Gyutto Shite
Fortissimo (Honeymoon, I love Pet series) is starting a new series soon. "Gyutto Shite" is a series based on the concept of hugging, and it uses the dummy head mic to make it sound like you are really being hugged. Hirakawa Daisuke will be voicing the first CD in the series again (he did the first Honeymoon soon as well). His character is called Serizawa Tsukasa, and he is a 25 year old salaryman working at a large company. He was your childhood friend who and is two years older than you are. Before you started dating you called him 'onii-san'. He has a kind personality, but is also someone you can rely on. While he is normally sweet and very supporting, he occasionally shows a bit more forceful side. His hobbies are reading and astronomical observation (star gazing?). The CD is planned for a 2013.03.28 release.

Futari Kinenbi
Futari Kinenbi ('Anniversary Together') is a new situation CD (or series) that is based on the concept of anniversaries. The CD will feature different situations based on different anniversaries (your first date, your first kiss, first Christmas together, etc). The character for this CD is Takaya Hajime (CV: Okamoto Nobuhiko). Wakkannaiyo did a wonderfully detailed description over here, so I'd like point to that for any more details (because otherwise I would simply be repeating what she said anyway).

Nego Danshi
Tachibana Shinnosuke is returning to the series for vol.15, which will be released on 2013.03.27. Seems like this is part of the 'third series', so there is probably more coming?

Weekly News Post

Shinsengumi Mokuhiroku Wasurenagusa
The much awaited third voice sample is up. Hijikata seems to be calmly enjoying himself, while no doubt doing a lot of things to you. Only a few more days until the release, hohoho.

Mikkai
Details about the second CD are up on the site. Mizuki Keita (CV: Ono Yuuki) works as an idol. He is a kind person who can't leave people in trouble to their own, but because he acts like a cool type on stage everyone around him and his fans think that is his actual personality. The CD is planned for a 2013.01.25 release. I really love the main visual btw.

Sasayaki Micchaku
The series continues with vol.5 養護教諭・近杉泰助の保健日誌 (yougokyouyu chikasugi taisuke no hoken nikki, Health Teacher Chikadugi Taisuke (?) his Health Journal). I am completely uncertain about how to read his name because this series has rather original readings at times, but up to now all the names were puns and 'Chikasugi' could also mean "too close" which fits the pattern of the names up to now.

Either way, he is voiced by Hosoya Yoshimasa, and the setting is that he is the school nurse at the school you are going to. While you visit him he tells you all sorts of stories, and one day your relationship might even change from teacher-student to something more...?! The CD is planned for a 2013.03.27 release.

Weekly News Post

I am slowly getting better at this. The day I will actually make my own deadline is near. Hopefully.

Honeymoon
We all it knew this would come sooner or later; the next Honeymoon CD has been announced. This time Okumura Chiharu (CV: Ishida Akira) will take you to Turkey. Chiharu is a history teacher, so you will be visiting a few ruins in Turkey among other things. Chiharu is described as having a sexy aura, but it is hard to guess what he is thinking.

Sasayaki Micchaku
The series continues, this time with a fortune teller. Sawatane Tsukumo (CV: Okamoto Nobuhiko) is an apprentice fortune teller, and that is about everything that the official site tells us about him. Judging from his character image he looks like a cheerful innocent type, but who knows. His design is very different from the first three characters, who all had more of an adult atmosphere. The CD is planned for a 2012.11.14 release.

News (Part 4)

I thought that I could finish all the news in the last post, obviously not. With this I think we're completely up to date again though. Enjoy the last part of the news, I'm sure that there are several interesting items for everyone!

RekiSing
I somehow keep forgetting that this projects exists. Either way, In RekiSing various famous historical characters end up in our time, and for some reason end up working as idols. It is probably best not to ask to many questions. The two that just made a time-slip to the present are Takechi Hanpeita (CV: Hatano Wataru) and Okada Izou (CV: Shimono Hiro). For some reason Sakamoto Ryouma (CV: Ono Daisuke) was already walking around in the present, and he is working as a music producer. He is being supported by his manager Iwasaki Toratarou (CV: Ishida Akira) who is a fan of Ryouma since he was working as an idol himself.

The first CD will go on sale on 2012.09.05 (although it is on pre-sale in a few shops starting yesterday)

Weekly News Post

Hello there! Today’s news post comes with a few side notes. Next week there won’t be a news post because I am on a short vacation to Italy. I will do my best to make a news post in the weekend of 21-22 July but I can’t promise anything...

Because I’ll be busy with preparations for my second vacation: 4 weeks of Japan!! Which means that there won’t be any news posts from July 28 till August 18-ish, nor will I be able to reply to any comments or post anything on tumblr because I will be busy traveling around Japan trying to meet friends and bankrupting myself by buying lots of games and CD’s. (Which I won't be able to play or listen to until I get back, haha)

Because I already had an involuntary hiatus 2 months ago, I’m trying to keep the blog active during that time. But that means all posts will be queued so that they will post automatically. I will have to apologise for any spelling or grammar mistakes during that time. I’m currently working fulltime to be able to afford all of this, and I simply don’t have the time (or energy) to check them as thoroughly as I usually do.

And now, on to the actual news!!

Oujisama (warai)
I already interpreted the zadankai in the last CD as a confirmation that there would be more releases, and while they might be a little bit different from what I expected my wish has been fulfilled!!

Starting October 2012 three new CDs titled “Oujisama (warai) Date CD” will be released. There are now nine princes, so I’m guessing there will be three princes for each CD. Of course, as this is Oujisama (warai) that we are dealing with I doubt the CDs will be very serious, but just imagine dating some of them. This is going to be hilarious. More info will be released soon on the official site.

Also: the cover for the first Radio CD is on the right.

Weekly News Post

Late News Post is late as always. Also, all reviews from May have been added to the review page. We've reached over 200 reviews, yay!!

Shinsengumi Mokuhiroku Wasurenagusa
Rejet is working on something new: 新撰組黙秘録勿忘草 (Shinsengumi Mokuhiroku Wasurengusa, Shinesengumi Secret Files Forget-me-not, after this simply Wasurenagusa) is a series of situation CD's based on the Shinsengumi and the concept "what if I could have been there". The series will use the Dummy Head Mic.

6CD's have been planned for now: Saito Hajime (CV: Takahashi Naozumi) on 2012.07.25, Okita Souji (Image to the right, CV: Suzuku Tatsuhisa) on 2012.08.29, Kondou Isame (CV: Inoue Kazuhiko) on 2012.09.26, Toudou Heisuke (CV: Shimono Hiro) on 2012.10.31, Hijikata Toshizou (CV: Hosoya Yoshimasa) on 2012.11.28, and finally Yamazki Susumu (CV: Morikawa Toshiyuki) on 2012.12.26.

With each CD comes a ticket, if you buy all 6 you can apply for a special drama CD which has all of the characters interacting with each other. So far this seems to be a drama CD only series, but you never know what Rejet has planned for us...

Ojisama Senka
The cast for Ojisama Senka vol. 5 and 6 have been announced. Vol.5 will have Genda Tesshou, Hamada Kenji, and Tobita Nobuo. Vol.6 will have Ishizuka Unshou, Ebara Masashi, and Touichi Hiroki. The titles for both vol aren't final yet, but for now they are titled "itsumo no tokoro de" and "escape".

When the cast for vol.5 was announced it first said that it would be Hayami Shou instead of Tobita Nobuo, but one day later an apology saying that this was false. Tobita Nobuo was announced as cast one day after that. The apology mentions "a confirmation mistake on behalf of [his] agency" as the reason why he can no longer participate.

A mobile game on Gree has also been released, but unfortunately I have no further info on that.

Weekly News Post

Oujisama (warai)
Now that the Oujisama (warai) radio show has officially started airing, they have also announced a Radio CD. This CD will have the first 5 episodes, in which Cinderella, Rapunzel, the Emperor, Genji, and (the princes from) the little mermaid appear as guests, as well as a zadankai like in the drama CD's. The CD is Planned for 20012.08.22.

Risou Kareshi
Finally a bit more info on Risou Kareshi, and an official site. The characters are based on the results of an survey hold at the Animate Ikebukero store. I have no idea how the actual enquete looked, but the results are three different characters and their job, hobbies, personality, and even seiyuu.

The three characters are a 'cool' type (CV: Kamiya Hiroshi), a passionate type (CV: Ono Daisuke) and an amaenbo type (sweet, slightly spoiled. CV: unknown). It is interesting to see that while they have different personalities, certain things overlap. Both the cool and the amaenbo boyfriend have cooking as an hobby for example, while both the passionate and cool types are prone to showing tears...

Nego Danshi Vol.3 and 4

ね語男子 其の三      ね語男子 其の四

Company: Wavemaster Happies
Based on: Cats
Released: 2012.02.22

Nego Danshi is a series about cats. Or more accurately, it shows of scenes out of the life of a cat, from the perspective of that cat. Or put even more simply: Nego Danshi has seiyuu acting like cats. Each CD has 4 different tracks, 3 of them depicting 3 different cats ('lone wolf', a cute cat, and a cat in his last moments) and an extra. Vol.3 is voiced by Sugiyama Noriaki, and vol.4 by Naruse Makoto.

The scenario in these two CD's is slightly different from the first two. The first track starts similar (even with the exact same lines) but the story is slightly different. The music is a bit different as well. It turns out that our so called 'lone wolf' is just a house cat imagining he is a hard boiled type.

In the second track you come home crying because you had a hard time at work and your cat tries to get in your room. Which fails, to much hilarity (and the cat crashing into your door).

The third track is still largely similar to the first two CD's, but each CD has it's own special track. In this track the seiyuu once again turn into cats after they finish their recording. At the end of the track you can hear the seiyuu meow-ing in a few different ways.

Each Seiyuu acts the tracks in his own way, which leads to different interpretations. And sometimes quite some difference in length between the tracks sometime. Despite the lines being virtually the same Naruse his tracks are 2 whole minutes(!) longer that Sugiyama's.

Overall, I liked the Naruse his version better this time. Mostly because he sounds much cuter as a cat (although Sugiyama his scare reaction in track one was funnier. In track 2 they were similar, with (Naruse sounding cuter). I wasn't to impressed with track 3 in both cases. Sugiyama his version is just a cat with a cold, instead of dying. Naruse sounded more like he was actually dying, but neither of them even come close to the performance in vol.1.

Naruse even wins in the Omake, his scenario was simply funnier. Especially the line "apparently this came out last month as well, and it was relatively popular").

Conclusion:
I'm happy that they changed the scenario's a little, if it were exactly the same again it would be much less interesting. Naruse-san makes an incredibly cute cat, but Sugiyama-san is (in my opinion) just so so. From these two vol.4 is my favourite one, but overall vol.1 still wins hands down.

Nego Danshi Vol.1 & 2

ね語男子 其の一   ね語男子 其の二

Company: Wavemaster Happies
Based on: Cats
Released: 2012.01.18

Nego Danshi is a series about cats. Or more accurately, it shows of scenes out of the life of a cat, from the perspective of that cat. Or put more simply: Nego Danshi has seiyuu acting like cats.

Each CD has 4 different tracks, 3 of them depicting 3 different cats and an extra. This time the characters are a 'lone wolf', a cute cat, and a cat in his last moments.

The first track has the memorable lines "I'm a lone wolf. Though I look like a cat". It is a track about a lone cat in the city. He starts out all cool, but then a group of high school girls and some kids with a toy get the better of him. In the beginning there is no ~nya or anything catlike, but just wait until they start to pet him.

The second track is about a cute cat that spends his days sleeping and is hungry when his master gets back. The entire scene where he chases a mouse is so incredibly cute (and funny). Somehow I really hope this is what a cat is thinking when it chases something.

The third track is a true tearjerker though. It is about a cat in his final moments, reliving a few memories, and finally crawling unto your lap too fall asleep forever. Even though the atmosphere was very light and funny before, this track nearly had me crying.

The extra sounds like the seiyuu finishing the recording, and then after they exit the building they meet a cat and... magically turn into one. Hilarity ensues.

All of the scenes are nicely written. I have no idea what cats normally think, and I doubt that this is what they think, but it is a lot of fun (and in case of track 3, touching) to listen to.

The interesting thing here is that, except for the extra, both CD's have the same scenario. Even though the track titles for track one and two are different, the story is the same. The difference between the two CD's is how the seiyuu have interpreted or acted out certain their roles.

This confused the hell out of me in the beginning. Somehow their voices were similar enough to make me doubt whether there was some sort of mistake (several people will now shoot me for not being able to hear the difference after the first second. Go ahead, you have all rights to do so). I like both versions, but the third track was more touching in the Shimono version.

Conclusion:
When saw this I was sceptical but decided to give it a try, but listening to this has me convinced: this is going to be one fun series and I hope it never ends. There is something incredibly funny about cats. Or maybe just about seiyuu saying ~nya all the time. But somehow I would have hoped that they would have different scenario's, instead of the same ones. I really hope the other ones have a different scenario though...

Weekly News Post

I've got earphones again!! Meaning I can start listening to stings again :D

Disney Date
For those who are interested in how our favourite seiyuu sound singing Disney songs, there are previews up here. The songs are arranged different from the original versions, which surprised me a little (but I really didn't expect that trumpet at the beginning of 'the circle of life'). I love Sakurai his 'when you wish upon a star'.

O.To.Na Gentei
The cast and character types for vol.3 have also been announced! Kakihara Tetsuya will be voicing an aristocrat type, and Chiba Shigeru an oji-san type. Other than that the third episode of the radio show is now online on the official site, as well as the cover for the first CD.

Kimi ga ofuro de noboseru CD
I forgot all about this, but EM2 is bringing us... personified hotsprings. A total of 8 CDs based on different hot springs in Japan wil be released one CD a month starting on 2012.02.29. The first vol is Kusatsu Onsen, voiced by Sakurai Takahiro. Fujiwara Keiji will act as story teller for all 8 CDs. I don't know what to expect, but I think (hope?) a lot of bath scenes.

Weekly News Post

One day late. Managing Christmas holidays at my parents and keeping a steady release schedule turns out to be quite a challenge. Although I have to admit that my PS3 is guilty of stealing some of my time, most of it is taken by amigurumi. I never thought the day would come that I would be crocheting untill 3am because I felt I almost got it this time (as you can guess, I am pretty hopeless with it). But, on to the news.

Kannou Jikan 7
With the start of a new series I expected (hoped?) that Kannou Jikan would end, but instead Hituzigumo just announced vol 7. 春の賛歌と神隠しの岩屋 (Haru no Sanga to Kamikakushi no Iwaya) is a story about a Demon who falls in love with a god and locks her away in a cave. But because he years to see her, he visits her once a year... While I was contemplating whether or not I would force myself to listen this time I noticed the seiyuu: Hirakawa Daisuke. Damn you Hituzigumo, you just know that I will be forced to listen to it now. The release is set for 2012.03.02. And is that Sesshoumaru on te cover on the right?

While reading up on their blog I discovered that the series would continue; it is stated that it would continue in a blog entry posted on 17 november. But there was anothing interesting (and useless) discovery. Remember Hituzigumo their Aprils Fool joke? The so called exercise video? Yeah, that is Subaru, the character for the first Amemakura CD.

Lovers Only
A somewhat surprising new was announced by Momo & Grapes. Lovers Only is described as a CD "in which popular seiyuu whisper a love story that is slightly adult, just for you". The short summary describes the sales manager Ichiyanagi who goes to a business trip to China with a subordinate (I assume, that will be you). The business part is going well, however during the trip the already married Ichiyanagi falls for his subordinate...  The CD is voiced by Morikawa Toshiyuki, and is set for release on 2012.02.28.

Weekly News Post

Hello again! I've been changing little things around the site. To begin with the link to audiowiki has been removed, because it has been on hiatus for quite a while now, and several new links have been added under the 'drama label' section. I'm still working on the by now impossibly long list of tags, but I have yet to find a proper solution for that one.

Oujisama (warai)
The covers for Oujisama (warai) Gakuen and Oujisama (warai) Variety 2nd Season have been uploaded on the official site. I like the cover for Oujisama (warai) Gakuen a lot, but compared the the 1st Vacation CD, doesn't the cover for 2nd Season look a bit simple?

Bokutachi Otoko no Ko
A new episode in the lives of our three little cross-dressing idols has been announced: ”Bokutachi Otoko no Ko ~Masaka no Scandal~. Not much info about the plot yet, except that as the title implies there will probably be some sort of scandal.
